Arkady Levitin
Cello
Mr Levitin was educated under the rigorous Russian musical education program, completing the conservatory level in the 1950's. His education was interrupted for seven years during World War II, during which time he did not even see a cello. Since then, he has been a member of the prestigious Leningrad Philharmonic and taught publicly and privately in both Russia and the USA. Arkady played with and helped organize the White Nights Festival in St. Petersburg. He also appeared on Russian television and toured extensively throughout the Soviet Union.
Since moving to Bangor in 1993 to teach at RDL Strings, he has guided many students to exceptional levels, and welcomes beginners and advanced students.
